There's only two things i like about this type and thats the jumbled effect and layering. The problem is that there's just too much going on and the message isn't readable, also i don't really think that the type illustrates the message well.
This advert really blends type and image well together with a big splash of colour, its one of my favorite videos for these reasons. The images also really work well with whats being said.
I think this video is really clever, the whole piece works really well with the voice and the words being said by the shrink. I also like how when in certain angels you can see what has been said before and it goes quite far back.
This is one of my favorite uses of typography creating an image nout of words. this image is strong because of its use of colour and wording, they ahve used only a few words but it corresponds with the image and helps illustrate it even more. I think this piece would work just as well without the colour.
I really like typography images that use words to create and image i think its clever. Also what's good about this image is that the words correspond to the gun emphasizing the image. They have picked good words to stand out eg. 'Evil', 'hateful', 'heart' this adds another level to the piece by drawing your attention to it more.
This is another clever use of typography, you have to look close to see the people kissing. At a glance it does just look like a cloud but when you look closer there is a lot more detail. I like the fact there is no colour too, the piece doesn't need any and wouldn't add anything to it if you did add colour.
I think this design, although a little hectic, really works well. The way the images overlap one another but are simple enough to stand out works well for this board. The vibrant colour also help small parts stand out and grab your attention which i think i great. The little details, eg the writing, make you look closer and so you get to enjoy the whole pattern.
I think that that this works really works well, it shows really good exampes of manipulation of type and i find it really interesting how they have only used one word 'IT' and can show all the lyrics. I think its a really clever example of typography animation.
I think this video works really well the type faces are mixed but work with the lyrics and gives a good visual image. I think one of the strongest bits is the first 'hey ya' when the type jumps to the beat. Everything works in time with the music and theres a strong continuity with the type and sound.
This image appeals to me purely because of the layering although the letter is completely illegible (although slightly makes a letter 'E' in my opinion?) the use of colour is strong and although there is a lot of different tones they have used a restricted colour palette which i think helps the letter form, as well as being on a black background.
Here i am looking at typography. I was searching through types looking for a 'friendly' type and this is what i found. I like it because of everything it says, the type does have the appeal of 'warm' and 'friendly'. I find it strange how well type can come across as an image sometimes and this type face, for me, is one of the best.
Richard Talbot - "I use drawing as a way of thinking and a way of bringing together apparently disparate ideas and images". Although i am not brilliant technical drawing i really admire people who can draw like that. You can see the time and effort that went into the designs even if they are just sketches. Richard's work is complicated and interesting to look at, there are a lot of different layers working together and thats what appeals to me.
