Bakery identity

I have been looking at bakery identities, just to see the styles that have already been out there, especially through type. Although I have been focusing on type for the banding i wanted to keep an eye on what has happened before.

I really love this design, i love packaging that is covered in type especially when it relates to the product it creates such an interesting pattern on the surface. I really loved the hand made type that relates to the product because its all hand made products, it works perfectly together.

Poster bakery

I really love these posters, i think they work so well because they have such an original way of displaying the food. I really like the layers and how it all works together. I am not so sure about the sayings at the bottom, i think they look a little disjointed and could maybe have done without putting them there.

Hanigans bakery - logo design

I think what i particularly like about this logo is the vibrant 

pink colour. Im not too sure about the whole colour scheme

i think its just a little bit too much. I like the style and the type face chosen

but it looks a little old fashioned? I think the illustrations really work though,

and i like the style. I also like the logos in a variety of colours, i think thats

works really well.

5 x functions and purpose

I am really interested in retail graphics, especially innovative design. I think its always interesting when designers take normal packaging concepts and tweak them so they become a completely different visual experience. 

I really love this editorial and how the type creates such

an interesting header. I really love the complete contrast between the 

flamboyant type and the structured text.

The printing methods with this bag are amazing,

the embossed type and the thick black lines contrast

so elegantly.

The branding for this company is really amazing, it completely symbolises the

product. The type and images are appropriate to the design. They function as one

creating such an appropriate design solution. I love the mixture of print

techniques and style.

Logo and color

I really love these logo designs because of the bright and vibrant colours combined with the thick slab serif fonts. they really stand out and grab you, i have noticed that a lot of logos are generally circular. I don't really like the huge triangles around the edge, but i can see why it adds, personally i think it would have been better without.

5x Audience context

I think for me at the moment the art audience interests me, i would love to do some type design for the art industry to appreciate. However i do bare in mind commercial design, but at the moment i think i would focus it on retail and simple retail like poster designs t-shrits that sort of thing. When it comes to briefs i like doing things that i can contextualize commercially but i also like having fun with what i do, so would like to gear it towards a more culturally affluent audience.

structured. It all fits together perfectly not bombaring with info

Really love the jazz magazine layouts, its really some amazing

use of excellent worked out structure, its all geometric with angels

and shapes. Love the layout! 

5 x type and vectors

I am really interested in vectored type like this and how it begins to work as an image. I have no idea how to go about creating it but i think its going to be something i can develop next year. I just really love the fluidity it creates and how can still see the type through it making it legible. Its just a really simple image bit has so much going on making it really beautiful.

5 x Screen printing type and t-shirts

I am really interested in creating t-shirts and designs around type. I think it can create some really interesting items. I really love type on t-shirts especially high impact type so that it can sometimes become an image as well. I really want to produce work like this, like create some really cool t-shirts with sayings on etc. I think its such a good medium to work across. I would also get the opportunity to screen print, i love screen print because of its feeling of individuality and the homemade feel.

Love the contrast between what being said and the dainty

and crisp type. Big irony.

Really love slab serifs and how all this works

together, i think its funny and represents the wearer perfectly.

Avant garde... beautiful not much more to say really.

5 x Type Packaging

I really like the clear hierarchy, although this isnt

specifically type because it is using image, i think the

really structured layout to the type and information works

so well. I am a big fan of structured layout, especially

when it works well like this. 

I really love the simplicity of this layout

and how the type really grabs your attention 

opposed to some fancy image. The thick type is 

really bold, and you can imagine it really standing out

on a shelf. I think the colours work

really well together offsetting one another in such a 

clear way.

What really appeals to me with this packaging is the 

vintage style design work, the type is so crisp against the

background. Its symbolic by reflecting an old school way of type

design and packaging.

Lastly i really love the simplicity of this packaging.

Its such an interesting way to lay out information opposed

to just shoving the info on the back. This has a really contemporary

feel to it, visually i think its beautiful.

5x Editorial

What i think i love most about this editorial is the contrasting weights

and type, i creates such an interesting layout. The use of white space

to define the information works really well complimenting the layout.

What i like most about this is the is the contrast of white

space and how using it creates these really

clean and crisp lines of design. the type is really striking.

5x Typography

I am really interested in typography, there are so many elements that interest me such as how you can create patterns from type and how you can create some really interesting illustration style type.

I love the pattern and the style of this piece

and how the type creates such an intereact image,

while offset with some really strong and bold type.

I think what appeals to me most here is

the simplicity of the type, and how it

creates such an interesting visual. I really love

type that breaks up to create an obscure hierarchy.

This is a pure type website, i really like its

functioning. I think the whole design looks 

really sophisticated, i love the simplicity of the 

layout.
